1. It has safety pins. It seems it is impossible to find these anymore without some serious searching, and here they are part of this kit.
2. The scissors are normal size. You don't have to manage with some cheap pair of mini-scissors.
3. There is a pin cushion included. If you are on the run you are often in an environment where there is no place to put pins as you are repairing whatever it is that needs repairing.
This product has served me well at a good price and I highly recommend it for doing small emergency repair jobs on clothes.
